What are Dental X-rays?
Digital X-rays are a form of Dental Xrays. X-rays are a focused beam of x-ray particles. It passes through the oral tissues and produces an image on the film. The bone tissues absorb most of the x-rays, while some pass through the oral mucosa. Xrays tube will produce X-rays when an electric current passes. To avoid overexposure of the patient, the dental personnel delivers it in a controlled setting.
Why you need Dental X-rays?
X-rays provide a simple black and white images of teeth and jaw. The doctors and dentists use these images to diagnose problems and diseases. Without an x-ray of the tooth and supporting bone and gum tissues, it would be impossible to detect incipient dental decay, infections or other pathologies.

In our office, the dental personnel uses digital radiography. It allows us to take x-rays using up to 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. A small sensor takes an x-ray of your mouth using this technology. The sensor records the image of your teeth and sends it to a computer. The result is a digital image of your teeth and gums. The dentist can enhance this image for better diagnosis and determine the very best treatment for each case.
